Kukui’ula Shopping Center
The Shops at Kukui’ula is an upscale shopping center located near Koloa and Poipu. We love this place – lots of high end stores but good food and happy hours. Come Wednesday afternoons for the culinary market and music. There is an ice cream shop, surf shops, great restaurants, and much more!
In future posts I’ll add more content here about our particular favorites. But we always tend to gravitate towards Merriman’s Gourmet Pizza and Burgers for happy hour. Hint: try the Kalua Pork tacos – amazing!
The weekly culinary market is awesome. It’s Wednesdays from 3:30 to 6:00pm. Arrive early – parking goes quickly. I’ve tended to go to the far end of the parking lot – away from the ocean. You’ll have to look for someone going to their car and wait for them to snag their spot. It’s that bad.
The Market
Once in the market you’ll find lots of food to consume right there, or take home. We regularly buy beef from a local ranch and spices that are made by a family right on Kauai by Salty Wahine. Bring cash because not everyone takes cards. Prepare to get lots of veggies that are super fresh and delicious!
The Entertainment
One of our favorite things about the Culinary Market at the Shops at Kukui’ula is the entertainment. The shopping center employs local talent. Foremost among them is Johnny Rivera and his band.
